Once Upon a time…
1984Founding
As a trained logistics manager, Karl-Heiz Berger formed Berger AG Customs Clearance Agency in 1984 with its head office in Muttenz. With a lot of passion and huge amount of expertise, Berger AG achieved cult status as a customs clearance agency with a constant stream of forwarders from Switzerland and abroad.
1994Transport
As a pure customs clearance agency, Karl-Heiz Berger formed the company Express Group Swiss GmbH in answer to frequent requests by customers for a reliable courier service.
1996Expansion
Berger AG, was able to move into offices right on the border on the motorway at the Weil am Rhein- Basel border crossing and, at the same time, acquire new office premises in Freiburgerstrasse.
2004Tares
Introduction of the electronic Tares customs tariff.
2016New CEO
New management of the family business
Jessica Engesser-Berger took over management of Berger AG from her father, Karl Heinz Berger. This saw Berger AG owned by the second generation of the family.
2016New website & CI design
The Soriax GmbH web agency from Rheinfelden was commissioned to completely overhaul our website and corporate identity. This step was necessary to stay ahead of the competition.
